Description: In Episode 56 of Tuxes and Tomahawks, we sit down with the remarkable Carl Wheless — a Texas-born warrior whose life has been defined by service, sacrifice, and unshakable resolve. đŸ’Ș

Carl’s journey began in high school when he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and took him from the sands of Okinawa to the battlefields of Iraq as an M1 Abrams Tank Commander. đŸȘ–đŸš€ After 9/11, Carl felt the call to serve again, rejoining the military and deploying multiple times in defense of our nation.

Despite being forced into medical retirement just shy of 20 years of active duty, Carl’s fight didn’t end. ⚖ He’s now taking on a new battle — a legal one — to receive the retirement benefits he earned through blood, sweat, and sacrifice.

🎯 Highlights:

  • Enlisted in the Marine Corps while still in high school

  • Served across Okinawa, Quantico, and Camp Lejeune

  • Returned to military service post-9/11 as a Tank Gunner & Commander
